Our promise
Output is not the same as understanding.
Artificial intelligence can generate language, images, analysis, and recommendations faster than any student can think them through. Our work is to keep the reasoning, judgment, and authorship with the person, and to give schools, students, and families practical guidance for honest, safe, and responsible use.
Why we started
The questions began in our own home.
AI Scholars Lab began as Jim and Krista Acuff considered what artificial intelligence would mean for their own children and for the students and teachers around them.
Jim brought three decades of experience in technology, including leadership roles at AT&T and AWS. Krista brought the perspective of a career educator who understood how emerging technologies affect classrooms, teachers, and student learning.
They found plenty of enthusiasm and plenty of alarm, and very little practical guidance for the decisions schools, students, and parents were making every week.
That gap became AI Scholars Lab.

The founders
Jim Acuff
Jim brings three decades of experience in technology, including leadership roles at AT&T and AWS. He works on the technical realities of AI systems, tool evaluation, and what responsible adoption requires of an institution.
Krista Acuff
Krista is a career educator who understands how emerging technologies affect classrooms, teachers, and student learning. She works on curriculum, educator practice, and communication with families.

Who we serve
Schools and educators, students and career programs, families, and homeschool communities. Christian schools, Christian families and homeschool communities, and churches and ministries are served through a dedicated segment with faith-grounded guidance.

- Honest use and clear disclosure come before clever workarounds.
- Safety and privacy are expressions of care for students and families.
- Guidance must be practical enough to use on an ordinary school day.
- Accuracy matters: claims get verified, sources get checked.
- People remain responsible for the work that carries their name.
- Technical competence and educational judgment belong together.
